Investors in Software has been the driving force behind the ISO/IEC 19770-1 SAM standard and will continue to be the vehicle for on-going development, promotion and support.
Critical to the successful take up of the Standard is the unreserved, public support by key industry players through their membership of IiS. Such overt support will serve to reinforce the credibility of the standard and encourage the take up of the optional manufacturer specific certifications that can be gained as part of the accreditation programme ensuring a range of benefits are enjoyed by all parties.
There are three levels of membership, each associated with a range of benefits:
- Major Sponsor - for organisations whose primary focus is on the manufacture of software
- Sponsor - for organisations with software and consultancy derived revenues
- Supporter - for any organisation whose focus is using software rather than supplying it
The investment required for membership and the associated benefits vary in scale. The route to membership should be as follows:
1. Decide if your organisation is able and willing to support this initiative and at what level
2. Contact feedback@InvestorsInSoftware.com to receive a membership prospectus
3. Complete and return the prospectus
If you are a software manufacturer, you should then start considering how best to integrate your own certification scheme with the Standard and IiS would be pleased to assist.
Membership of IiS is an ideal opportunity for those involved in the software industry to show their commitment to and support of the world¡¦s first internationally recognised SAM standard.
